AMP has been honoured at the 60th anniversary of the Good Design Awards® overnight, receiving four awards, including the prestigious Best in Class for Design Strategy for its AMP Goals 360 financial advice experience.

AMP received top honours in the following categories:

  • Design Strategy (Best in Class)
  • Digital Design – Interface
  • Digital Design – Web Design and Development
  • Service Design Commercial Services

Three of the awards honoured AMP’s strategic focus on designing a goals-based financial advice experience, including its innovative AMP Goals 360 experience, while the Web Design and Development award recognised AMP’s recent retirement career campaign.

Launched in October 2016 across an initial 11 pilot practices, and now extending to 32 AMP Advice practices, AMP Goals 360 transforms financial advice into a visual and digitally interactive discussion about goals and aspirations.

AMP Director of Digital and Design Mike Weeding, who attended last night’s ceremony and accepted the Best in Class Award for Design Strategy, said the award recognises the development of a highly contemporary and accessible experience for customers on a topic many find difficult to engage with.

“AMP Goals 360 is the culmination of hundreds of conversations with our customers to understand how to best connect them with their financial futures,” said Mr Weeding.

“Managing finances doesn’t appeal to many people but achieving their goals and pursuing their passions does.”

The Good Design Awards jury described AMP’s design strategy for its goals-based advice experience as ‘an incredible example of a systems design approach to a complex challenge…the outcomes from working in this way are insight-led, encompassing customer and organisational experience in ways rarely seen to such a calibre.’

AMP was also honoured for its design of a fun and unique digital experience encouraging people to think of retirement as an opportunity for a new career. The short questionnaire asked participants some simple questions that determined whether they’re an Adventurer, Giver, Survivor or Worker, before inviting them to explore their retirement options in more detail.

AMP’s award-winning entries will be showcased during Vivid Sydney at the Overseas Passenger Terminal from 25-27 May 2018.
