Full year 2023 dividend

On 4 April 2024 AMP paid a 2.0 cents per share dividend, franked at 20%. The Record Date was 4 March 2024. The dividend reinvestment plan (DRP) was in operation for this payment, and the last date for DRP enrolment was 5 March 2024. 

Half year 2023 dividend

On 29 September 2023 AMP paid a 2.5 cents per share dividend, franked at 20%. The Record Date was 24 August 2023. The dividend reinvestment plan (DRP) was in operation for this payment, and the last date for DRP enrolment was 25 August 2023. 

Full year 2022 dividend

On 3 April 2023 AMP paid a 2.5 cents per share dividend, franked at 20%. The Record Date was 2 March 2023. The dividend reinvestment plan (DRP) operated for this payment, and the last date for DRP enrolment was 3 March 2023. The AMP Board did not declare a dividend for the 2022 half year payment. This would have been paid in September 2022.

2021 reporting year dividends

The AMP Board did not declare a dividend for the 2021 reporting year. These dividends would have been paid in September 2021 and March 2022. The decision was made in order for AMP to maintain its balance sheet strength and conservative capital management through a period of significant change. This position will be reviewed by the board in the coming reporting period. As no dividends have been paid for the 2021/2022 tax year, there is no income from AMP shares to declare in tax returns for this reporting year.

2020 reporting year dividends

Full year 2020 dividend - The AMP Board did not declare a dividend for the 2020 full year payment. This dividend would have been paid in March 2021. The decision was made to maintain our balance sheet strength and conservative capital management. The board is committed to restarting the group’s capital management initiatives including the payment of dividends, share buyback and other capital initiatives in 2021. This is subject to the completion of the portfolio review, market conditions and business performance.

Half year 2020 special dividend - On 1 October 2020 AMP paid a A$0.10 a share fully franked dividend. The special dividend was the return of capital following the sale of the AMP Life business in June 2020. The special dividend was a cash payment only and the dividend reinvestment plan (DRP) did not operate for this payment.

2019 reporting year dividends

The AMP Board did not declare a dividend for the 2019 reporting year. These dividends would have been paid in September 2019 and March 2020. The decision was made in order for AMP to maintain its balance sheet strength and conservative capital management through a period of significant change including the sale of the AMP Life business. This position will be reviewed after completion of the sale of AMP Life, which is expected by 30 June 2020. As no dividends have been paid for the 2019/2020 tax year, there is no income from AMP shares to declare in tax returns for this reporting year.

Finding your holder number

Dividend payment process

Shareholders can choose to receive their dividend by direct credit into their bank account or by receiving additional shares through the dividend reinvestment plan (DRP). AMP pays dividends in three currencies - AUD, NZD and GBP. The DRP is only available to residents of Australia and New Zealand. You can select or amend your dividend preference by following the login details above or by contacting the share registry. AMP sets a record date for each dividend. The record date determines eligibility to receive the dividend, payment choice and contact details. Changes must be made by the record date to apply to the next dividend payment.
