Simon Warner has been appointed as Head of Fixed Income for AMP Capital, effective immediately.

Mr Warner, who has held the role of AMP Capital’s Head of Macro Markets within the fixed income team for the past seven years, replaces Mark Beardow, who was announced as Chief Investment Officer of Specialist Investment Teams in December 2013.

AMP Capital’s Fixed Income team has been expanding its reach in line with the changing investment environment through additional international mandates and enhanced capabilities. Fixed income teams are now located in AMP Capital’s Chicago and Hong Kong offices and clients are able to access international exposure through AMP Capital’s global fixed income funds and absolute return funds.

Commenting on the appointment, Mr Beardow said: “Simon has impeccable investment credentials and proven leadership skills, demonstrated by his previous role as Head of Macro Markets. Prior to joining AMP Capital in March 2007, Mr Warner held a range of investment roles with JPMorgan Chase in London, Sydney and Singapore. He has 17 years of experience managing global fixed income and currency portfolios.

The Fixed Income team has 30 dedicated investment professionals based in Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong and Chicago.
