AMP Capital will welcome retail giant Zara to its Perth shopping centre, Garden City, when the global retailer opens its first Western Australian store in late August.
The iconic Spanish label features innovative designs that are celebrated around the world and its full line of women's, men's and children's clothing will be available at the new Garden City store.
Zara has more than 2,000 stores worldwide. The Garden City store is the 10th to open in Australia and comes three years after the opening of the flagship stores in Sydney's Pitt Street Mall and Melbourne's Bourke Street Mall.
AMP Capital Shopping Centres Managing Director Bryan Hynes said: "We're delighted that Zara has chosen Garden City as its first location in WA which acknowledges the centre's excellent foot traffic and reputation.
"Demand from international retailers shows a strong belief in the booming Perth market and Garden City as a good investment option for their popular stores."
This is an exciting time for Garden City with AMP Capital's plans to redevelop and expand the centre by 48,000 square metres recently approved by the WA Planning Commission.
Mr Hynes said: "AMP Capital's redevelopments will see some of Australia's most iconic centres like Garden City transformed into fashion, leisure and lifestyle hubs.
"We're reshaping the future of shopping centres with $2.8 billion in redevelopments planned across Australia and New Zealand, providing engaging and inspiring retail environments."
Zara is part of the world's largest apparel retailer, Inditex, which also owns European brands Massimo Dutti, Oysho and Pull and Bear.
AMP Capital's proposed $750 million redevelopment of Garden City - which will see the centre grow to 120,000 square metres in size - will be the largest shopping centre development to be approved in WA.
