AMP has strong cyber security systems in place to protect the privacy and data of its customers.
These systems worked effectively in identifying a potential issue and we moved swiftly to protect our customers, alerting NSW Police. We have been working with NSW Police on this matter and would like to thank them for their thorough investigation, which has resulted in charges being laid.
The data breach involved a very small amount of customer information and we have no evidence this data has been further compromised. We are continuing to monitor this closely.
AMP contacted all affected customers in December and extra security controls are in place for these customers.
We also notified the relevant regulators.
