Based in Auckland, Mr Gray will work closely with the wider AMP Capital team to incorporate global asset strategy into local portfolios, as well as ensuring AMP Capital’s diversified fund range meet the expectations of New Zealand clients. He will report to AMP Capital New Zealand Managing Director / Head of Clients, Rebekah Swan.

Michael is the founder of MJ Gray Consulting Limited, a boutique firm offering tailored investment strategy and governance services built on high-quality research and broad investment knowledge. Prior to establishing the consultancy business Michael has had an extensive career in the New Zealand and Australian funds management industry, most recently as Senior Portfolio Manager with Caliber Investments from 2015 to 2020. Prior to this he was an Investment Manager at Suncorp from 2013 to 2015, and Head of Investment Strategy at CommInsure from 2007 to 2013. Michael has also had portfolio manager roles with ASB Group Investments and JB Were Goldman Sachs.
