AMP Capital today announced the appointment of Robert Hattersley in the newly created role of Chief Investment Officer for its leading Real Estate division. Mr Hattersley has more than 30 years’ experience in the property sector and joins AMP Capital from global property company Lendlease, where he was most recently the Group Chief Investment Officer. Prior to that he held senior roles with Mirvac.
In this new role, Mr Hattersley will be responsible for raising capital for AMP Capital Real Estate’s existing funds and mandates and working closely with the origination team to raise capital for new products, a key priority for the future demerged Private Markets business.

Mr Hattersley is highly regarded across the real estate industry. As Group Chief Investment Officer with Lendlease, he was responsible for all third-party capital relationships comprising over $36 billion in assets under management. He was also responsible for sourcing equity partners and managing client relationships for Lendlease’s $113 billion development pipeline.
He was the Director of the Lendlease Real Estate Investment Trustee board for 17 years and is a member of the Executive Board of the Asian Association for Investors in Non-Listed Real Estate Vehicles (ANREV).
Mr Hattersley will join early next year and will report to Kylie O’Connor.

Rob has been involved in the real estate and funds management industry for over 30 years, including 12 years with the Mirvac Group where he was Director of Investments.
Rob joined Lendlease in 2000 and was appointed to the Group Chief Investment Officer role in late 2017. Prior to this, Rob was the Chief Investment Officer for Lendlease Investment Management, a position which he held since June 2005.
Rob’s responsibilities included managing capital relationships, equity raising, and reducing product and Investor risk and worked closely with regional heads on delivery of business plans.
Rob was a director of the Lendlease Real Estate Investment Trustee Board and is also a member of the Executive Board of the Asian Association for Investors in Non-Listed Real Estate Vehicles (ANREV).
Rob holds a Bachelor of Business (Land Economy) from the University of Western Sydney and has Real Estate and Valuation Licence qualifications.
