Dr Shane Oliver, one of Australia’s most respected and sought-after economic minds, has launched a new podcast*, Oliver’s Insights.

Dr Oliver shares his perspectives and learnings from more than 35 years as a leading economist, having experienced numerous economic cycles, major global events, market upturns and downturns.

He breaks down the key issues impacting the economy and investment markets – everything from the property market outlook, interest rates, geopolitical events, covid, cryptocurrency, election implications and investment principles.

Oliver’s Insights forms part of AMP’s Simplifying Investing podcast series, which draws on the knowledge of AMP’s experts to help Australians better understand and engage with their investments and finances.

In the first episode, Dr Oliver discusses his outlook for house prices in Australia, amid the likelihood of rising interest rates and other economic factors.

Commenting on his new podcast, Dr. Oliver said:

“Through the many major economic and investment cycles and events I’ve witnessed over the years, the basic principles for how markets respond remain unchanged, as are the principles of sound investment strategy.

“I’ll simplify these principles as I take a closer look at the big economic and investment market issues, and provide my views on the outlook for markets.

“I hope the podcast gives listeners greater confidence with how they invest and build their wealth.”

The podcast can be accessed through all the major streaming platforms, including SpotifyApple Podcasts and Google Podcasts.

Dr. Shane Oliver is AMP’s Chief Economist. His knowledge and expertise inform investment strategy for AMP’s superannuation funds.
