AMP Limited has announced the appointment of experienced financial services executive Andrew Best as an independent, non-executive director of the AMP Limited Board, effective 1 July 2022.

Mr Best brings strong expertise to the AMP Limited Board, with more than three decades of international and domestic experience across investment banking and financial markets.

He has held multiple senior executive roles at J.P. Morgan Chase & Co, including most recently as the Head of Investment Banking for Australia and New Zealand and prior to that led J.P. Morgan’s Financial Institutions investment banking business for 13 years.

Andrew Best Biography

Andrew Best is a senior financial services executive with more than 30 years’ international and domestic experience across banking and financial markets in Australia, London, Hong Kong and Singapore, with a particular focus on capital markets and mergers and acquisitions.

From 1989 to 2020, Mr Best worked for J.P. Morgan Chase & Co holding various Managing Director roles over his three-decade career with the company, including most recently as Head of Investment Banking for Australia and New Zealand from 2017 to 2020. Prior to that role, Mr Best was Head of the Financial Institutions investment banking business for Australia and New Zealand from 2004.

Mr Best is also a member of the Ord Minnett Private Opportunities Fund Investment Committee, a panel member for Adara Group, which provides independent pro bono advice to Australian companies and an executive coach with Foresight Global Coaching.
